Looking at a particular range (Vernis) of Hansgrohe taps and mixers. A 2 function bath mixer seems readily available but can only find a 1 function shower mixer. I will have a shower head and a separate hand shower so wanted a 2 function setup so I can switch between the two.

Can I use the "bath" mixer for this? Flow rates seem very similar i.e. their listed shower flow rate is 28L/min (max) vs bath mixer 30L/min (for bath function) and 26L/min for hand shower.

Thanks in advance!

I'm looking to have a wall mounted shower head and separate hand shower and then have controls located away from both if that makes sense
Oh I get it. Sorry 😀
So using one of these for example?
I don't see why not - though worth checking if non-return valve arrangement is present? Edit - yes, instructions say it does have backflow prevention.

Yep that's the one. The "bath" mixers seem to be a quarter of the price of their standalone shower mixers so wonder if it's just marketing fluff etc as if the bath ones work that'll do me

So the gotcha is that the bath one is NON- THERMOSTATIC. That's why its cheaper!
Arguably more dangerous to use that, as drawing off water elsewhere in the house will change the temperature at the shower. Also probably more difficult to adjust temperature accurately.

This one IS thermostatic, but different style:

I’m sure you are aware but bear in mind that the above items are all “finish sets” and require other items to function as a mixer.
I know they require the ibox installation which actually looks a smart bit of kit.

What I need to figure out is how the 15mm terminates into it, I assume compression fitting but will look into it. Shout if anything else though as that's the extent of my shopping list

Cheers
