hi all i am moving house soon 😀 (been looking for 4 years🙁 ) and will be taking my gas cooker with me got a gas man doing the work for me (as need a ticket for the landlord) he has told me to get the bits but not which bits so which bits do i need
so far i know i need

15mm tube
isolating valve
stability chain and hook
straight backplate adaptor 15mm x 1/2"

comap brass flanged plug 1/2" to cap the old pipe off

or can i sweat out the joint and reuse the parts i aready have and just cap off the pipe with a E/F stopend
any help on this would be good

you can sweat off the joint put this must be capped off and checked for tightness by a gass afe engineer

Under supervision I think needs to be added. My advice would be leave it to the Gas Safe engineer to sort out. 🙂

If you've got a gas man doing it for you then why do you have to sort it all out??

of course he has a man doing the job for him, thats why the qualified guy said get "the" bits and never told him what to get.
OP do yourself and your ex neighbours a favour and dont mess with things you are not 100% sure about, are you familiar with a test called let by? please just pay someone to disconnect your cooker and refit properly for you, your ex neighbours and your new neighbours

its the partner someone the mrs works with all i got was a message from the oh saying he will do the work but we will need us to get the bits the oh did not ask what bits were needed and i dont have his number so have to ask the mrs and then hope she renembers to ask her the person she works with and then for her to ask him just thought it would be quicker to ask on here

Aye yeah. No Problem. Go ahead big lad!😱😱😱

<<Croppie runs away with his fingers in his ears>>

Seriously Cocker, have you any concept of what you're suggesting?

I would get your 'gas guy' to call round and take a gander. While he's doing that ask to see his Gas Safe card. You're perfectly within your rights to ask. Oh, and if he works for a company but is doing your work as a wee homer, then you'll find he won't be covered to commission and sign off your new installation.

Don't cut corners with gas mate. It ain't worth it.

dont rely want to take parts but if it makes things easyer but just needed to know if i have worked out the right parts if not then with ones do i need to get ? as dont want the guy to turn up one eve to fit it and find out i have the wrong parts as would be a pain in the bum as sods law would be shops would be shut and dont want to mess the guy about

he is self employed doing it at a cheep rate as long as pass his no on as i know a few people that need work doing so he will be able to commission and sign off the work so i can give a ticket to the landlords.
every one is happy i have my cooker in, he gets some extra work and the landlord gets there tickets
