Rad removed CH/hot water stop

Hello,

I have recently had a radiator removed and putback on for some painting.

My CH andwater were fine before this and now I have neither. The boiler doesn’t evenfire up. It’s a Worcester Bosch Green Star compact, only fitted 3 months ago.
Person thatdid the paint said that there could be air in the radiator. Only 1 was removedand put back on yet the entire system has stopped working...
Any ideas......Idon’t yet have boiler cover and it looks like I will have to call out a plumberbut any ideas on how I can get the boiler working and the CH and hot waterwould be great. – thank you

How's the system pressure? That's the most obvious culprit.

Thanks JC,...mm, I'm not quite sure how to test this....do you mean is it low or high and how would I find this out?

There should be a pressure gauge on the boiler or just below it, looks something like this:

What's the reading on it, it needs to be at 1 bar for the boiler to work.

no idea where I find the white filling key - would this be on the boiler itself?

White key is usually in the white tray fitted under the boiler

I am going to try to do this myself -
QUESTION: should I switch off the boiler so there is no blue light or any numbers or symbols on the little box?
Should I also change wireless thermo settings on all mounted comfort box to 'OFF' for both CH and water?

The picture I posted with the blue light on and ECO/28.0 is how the boiler currently looks. The pressure gauge shows it I on red.....can I just start with filling the pressure with all of these lights on? Of course I am going to have to look up into the boiler to locate the filling points -not sure if it is keyless filling (with blue lever) or a one with the filling key but I would think the latter

Just add some pressure a little bit at a time and keep an eye on the movement of the pressure gauge

SHOULD I ENSURE THE BLUE LIGHT AT FRONT OF BOILER IS SWITCHED OFF- from the mains?
Light is still on and can read digital window as in pictures so assume the boiler is ON
SHOULD LIGHT BE OFF WHEN I FILL PRESSURE? I would expect so?
And do Ithen switch it all back on and reset if necessary?

I don't believe having the light on or off makes any difference The only thing you're interested in is how high the pressure goes

Hello, update:
Went to boiler to try to carry out the re-pressurising and I was expecting to have to pull out the little white tray bit and detach the filling key BUT instead found the key already in place in the manifold and it would not turn c/w.

Thought i would need to insert the key then turn is 1/4 c/w right.... so this threw me.
The key is already positioned in manifold and seems to only turn a/c.

This a new boiler - 3 months installed and have just checked underneath it to find as said the key already position in the manifold and it would see to be in it's locked position - it will only turn left - should i try this?

The boiler is a Worcester B Greenstar 30si Compact combi - not able to find anything online to explain how this set up works ie. key already in place in manifold

I expected the key to be positioned on the white bit that you oull out and then insert it into manifold.

If the key can only turn a/c does this mean that the little white valve should therefore turn c/w?

Did try to turn the little white valve a/c Left and i heard air pressure and NOT water.....

Any ideas as to why the key is already in place and should i turn it a/c left?
Should i be listening for the sound or water as oppose to pressure/air?

Just find the positions of valve and key that fill the boiler, try each permeatation. You won't break it so calm down 🙂

Thank you very much. I should try to turn the filling key anti clockwise and the white valve I think clockwise, turning gradually whilst watching the pressure gauge move up to 1 to 1.5 listening for the sound of water filling the boiler....
When pressure is met I then lock the white valve, assume on opposite direction and turn key back to original position on the manifold. ...I do hope this works
This forum is really great..Thank you all for ideas and support . I shall report back hopefully to say that water is back on and heating.
Should I check within an hour to see if the pressure remains at 1-1.5?

In the off position the key should be removable, but don't use excessive force as the fitting can be damaged and may explain why key was left in place.

Thank you all. I was successful in my re-pressurising the boiler - your guidance was valuable and without your help I would have had to call out a plumber so thank you all so much.
It worked first time and I am thrilled!
