Is the radiator isulation any good/recommended. The reflective type that you can buy of about £8 from screwfix etc?

same as aluminium bako-foil pasted on wall for 8 pence per rad i think?.
got on on living room wall, it has been there for 18 years and to be honest i cant tell any difference, so no. unless some one can provide tech evidence?.

Without going into heat loss, reflective surfaces and all that techie talk, I used some stuff from Wickes.

Best price I could find. Its about 7metres long by 600mm high.

Its like bubble wrap with a foil back. Seems to have improved things quite a bit.

Mind you virtually adding any insulation behind rads which have none at all, is bound to improve things.

The room is certainly warmer.

If you want to go into this kind of stuff in a bit more professional way, look for the free Stelrad "Stars" program, download it and then you can enter in whatever insulation factors you like, to find out.
