So who used to sit at home on a Sunday listening to the top 40 on the radio then having sandwiches & cake for tea?

Who used to record from the radio? Me & my sister did!

Great days

I did and I had a reel to reel Grundig tape recorder.....as for Sunday tea it was mostly seafood ..cockles prawns shrimps and pickled herring with a selection of cheese and crackers...happy days did not have a lot of responsibility back then lol.......regards Turnpin

Yeh push button top loading cassette player lol. Held next to the speaker of the radio

I used to record the top 40. Also I used to cut the neighbours lawns to buy any new singles that were out. Great days.

I was usually out. Pillocking about in the woods, or away to Keston Ponds fishing, or just generally up to some sort of mischief.

I loved keston ponds. Remember going there after the hurricane in 87 to play on all the fallen trees! My first record player was a massive wooden unit about the size of a side board. Had a record deck, a cassette and a radio. It was given to me by a neighbour and I thought it was the nuts. Took up half my bedroom.
