Hi all,
Ive been called out to a friends house because the raidiator in his living room is cold but only in the middle ... Around the sides, top and botttom are v.hot but the middle is stone cold.
Ive bled the raidiator and re-filled, turning off all other raidiators expect for the one with the problem but still the cold in the middle persists?!?
Im assuming there is some sludge in the raidiator but any advice would be appreciated..
If it is sludge, whats the best way to resolve the issue???
Thanks in advance
Liam

Probably full of sediment. Close the valve and lockshield, unfasten it at the connection between the tails and the valve - open one end, shove a bung or cork in, then open the other end, do the same, turn upside down and take it outside and sluice it out with a hosepipe. Put water in several times, give it a good shake about, shove a length of stiff wire in if you can to have a poke about.

You really should consider doing this with all the radiators then powerflushing the system.
