Recomendation

Hi,

I want to retrain as a plumber and have seen the numerous companies offering plumbing courses, such as OLCI etc.

I'm based in Edinburgh, does anyone have any recommendations for courses nearby?

I did my training with OLCI the course and tutors were excellent-but and this is the big but,the clerical side are an absolute nightmare( couldn't give a toss in my opinion).You have to chase them for EVERYTHING(I'm surprised they manage to get to work-they're that disorganised).
If you sign up make sure you have everything in writing that they say you're going to get.You'll have to hound them though.
Shame as the course at the centre was brilliant.
I don't know if anyone from OLCI will read this and care to comment?

Hi wats123. I agree with helpsy about the centre, was really happy. Its in Livingston, so not that far from you. Nearly finished my course now and learned a lot from the tutors and all the guys there, its a really good set up. I was retraining as well and didn’t have much idea b4 I started, but the course was spot on and enjoying it. Never had a problem with admin side of it tho. Spoke to them a fair bit about booking workshops and practical days, and they were friendly and they got things right. Don’t think theres many others around up here, but I’d go with OLCI again, happy with how its all going.
