Removing a tap unit from bathroom sink basin

Hi, I am in the process of removing a tap to replace a sink basin. The hot and cold pipes go staright up into the tap unit and there are no nuts along the length of the pipes.

So, how do I tackle removing this tap? Does the lever lift off? I am hesitate to apply to much pressure in case I break it. Any advice will be gratefully appreciated.

the taps have copper tails. to remove them you will need to cut the 15mm copper pipe. do this with a pipe slice, and the water turned of and all pressure removed. then you can undo the tap nuts and remove the thing. all from underneath. once you have reinstalled a new basin, replace the tap and use a 15mm pushfit straight connector to rejoin to the old pipework.
be carefull not to unwind the tails from the tap.

under the basin you will find C clamp with a nut on some stud,either 10 or 13mm,if you have a box spanner to fit,or a deep socket,undo nut ,remove C clamp,disconnect pipe work and remove tap,if you want to take the lever off you will find a little allen grub screw in the back of the tap body.
