Hi,

In my 2 bedroom flat I have a Worcester Greenstar 24i boiler and a 200 litre Zip AquaFlow hot water cylinder.

The hot water cylinder has started to slowly leak from the bottom and I think it will need completely replaced - quote to replace is around £1000.

Given that this is only a 2 bedroom flat is the water cyclinder overkill for my use? Would it be more cost effective to swap the boiler and water tank for a combi boiler?

I have two showers which are rarely used at the same time and a bath that fills up satisfyingly quickly - would I be giving up anything in regards to those?

Best regards,
Gordon

Do you like your current HW performance because you'll certainly get less with an average combi swap?

My other considerations would be how old the current boiler is and whether it'll need replacing soon and do I need the space vacated by the cylinder.

The other consideration in these energy price sensitive times is that heating up a store may well work out cheaper than using an instanteous water heater but that obviously depends on frequency and type of use.

If the boiler is going to be ok for another three+ years say I'd just replace the cylinder if it were me.

appreciate the advice - the boiler has plenty of life in it yet, and i think it would take several years to pay back the efficiency save of getting a combi boiler, if ever. I don’t think I need a 200 litre tank so I’m going to go with a 150 litre tank instead for, hopefully, a slight efficiency save. Thanks again.
