HI

I am hoping that somebody will be able to help me with this. My house was built in the early 80s and the radiators are still the originals. The thermostaic valves are made by HARP and the control is plastic. The problem is over time they have become brittle, have broken and I cannot seem to find any replacements anywhere.

The valve is a pushpin assembly with the thermstatic control head being pushed over a metal lip that is approx 2cm in diameter. Once on, you tighten a plastic screw clamp to ensure it does not come off. This is a bit difficult to explain but I hope this makes sense.

Any help, where I could get a replacement would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
Ryan

I Think you would be better of replacing the complete valve. Drayton or Honeywell are very good. Don't go for the cheap £5 ones you find in many sheds.

Would agree with doitmyself, these valves need complete repacement as you will probably find green corrosion around body pins were stating to leak, they were not a great valve to start with, believe you will have to replace the tails into the radiators as well

Ok, thanks for the info. I wondered if that was the only solution. It seems that it is!

Cheers
Ryan
