Hi. I want to replace a leaking bathroom radiator with a towel radiator. The existing radiator (which I have already removed) has a top feed and bottom exit.

Is it possible to fit the towel radiator using the existing pipework or do towel radiators always have to have both bottom feed and exit? If so why?

Many thanks for reading and any answers gratefully recieved.

They can be set up the way you describe. The bung would just replace the bottom radiator valve and the radiator valve would go up top. To do this you would still need to alter pipework as it's unlikely to fit exactly and if you do that you may as well have them both at the bottom as it's just a lot tidier with less pipes showing.

Great. Thanks very much for your advise. The rad is situated in a corner of a bathroom with a sloping roof and the existing pipe work will be unobtrusive and need very little alteration. Also it extends from behind a fully tiled wall which I don't want to disturb if possible.
Thanks again and have a good weekend.

Sorry, above reply meant for JCSPlumbing!!

Many thanks for your response also.

The existing rad is pumped and the system closed pressure. Will that make any difference to the original answer?
