Replacing shower drain thingy

Hi, sorry this is a really basic question, but Google hasn't helped me find the answer... The chrome coloured ring around my shower plughole has cracked in half. I have a link for a photo but apparently not allowed to post it... Can someone tell me what is this part called, and can I replace it without having to buy a whole drain thing? What do I stick it on with?

if its standard (size hole) its a shower waste/ trap

Ah, I thought it was just a plastic ring but now I've taken the centre out I can see it's connected to the rest of it... Bah. Thank you

Is there any way to replace this without having to get under the shower tray? Just had new vinyl put down and sealed all round the edges!

you could just replace the plastic ring but you would have to get one the same as the old one

and no other than from below (ceiling)

That needs a new shower fitting,whole trap needs replacing,looks like a 60 mm

It all depends if the waste is supported underneath i undid one and it dropped 2 foot into a void so tie a string around that cross bar

Don`t disagree Mas but until the picture appeared it could of been any number of makes. Just sayin like ....... 😀😀😀
