I wonder if anyone could offer some advice.
Our very ancient TRG100 needs replacing before it conks out and we are hoping to replace with a TRG80 as they no longer make the TRG100. Our current system also has a Monodraught Flue sytem. We are trying to locate a fitter/installer to come and offer advice but so far have had no luck 🙁 None of the HETAS installers from the website (bar one who fitted wood stoves only) even replied to my email and Monodraught are ignoring me 🙁
We live in the Manchester area and would really like to get the ball rolling on this one..
Before you ask Gas is out of the question as we have just been quoted £15000 to bring the supply up the road from our neighbours..

Many Thanks,

Jacqui

Thank you, not sure about wood pellets, wouldn't they be twice as expensive to use as Anthracite pellets?
Also the boilers are twice the price of TRG. 🙂 any advice greatly appreciated...I am finding this to be a bit of a nightmare !!

i am looking forward to the day when the rhi is long forgotten and wood pellets cost more than oil or gas once the government needs more money 🙂

Current Price Oil: 55.34ppl ( Heating oil | Home Heating oil from BoilerJuice and cheapest its been for nearly 2 years so that's not gonna last) = 6.9p/kWh heat delivered
Current Price Pellets = £210 /Tonne = 4.6p/kWh heat delivered (pellets not increased in price across europe on the last 10 years....)

mmmmm... tell you what just bung me that 50% extra you obviuusly have it to burn 🙂 🙂

Pellets not increased in 10 years! Well that tells it's own story. Could the price be being maintained at an artificially low price until the take up of this fuel increases? I dont know, but time will tell and once somebody has spent thousands on the equipment they aint gonna change.

As you can tell im a bit of a sceptic, which is helped by a building that was built less than 12 months ago with a pellet boiler and already needs a new boiler.

Sorry to hear about that, even though it's a pain to deal with, that should be covered under manufacturers warranty, hopefully you're getting the right support.

Back to the OP though, what would others do if they needed to replace a TRG100?

Pellet (my 1st choice but then I am biased 🙂 )
Log gassification with large buffer tank (my 2nd choice but then I am biased 🙂 )
Another solid fuel technology?
Replace it with 'new' Trianco TRG?
Note that the Trianco Pellet boilers are badge engineered WES boilers. (Bit like Vauxhall and Daewoo)
Oil?
LPG?

My option 1 and 2 you'll get paid by the government to put in that kind of technology under the Domestic RHI
Oil?

I had nothing to do with it, thankfully. But front page of the local rag dissing pellet boilers hasnt boosted peoples confidence in these parts.

Like I said, time will tell! 🙂
