Shocked when I heard this morning. Apparently been struggling with depression.

Mork and Mindy was brilliant. Seemed to be a genuinely funny guy. So many good films to choose from. Patch Adams, Jack, Good Morning Vietnam, Bicentennial Man, the list goes on.

Just shows that nobody knows whats behind the smile.

I think one of his best roles was in Terry Gilliams 'the fisher king'

I'm not normally one for celebrity condolence. However I got into cycling for the same reasons. Very very sad he lost his battle.

Im not normally affected but there are certain greats who you think "really???? nah.." when you first hear about their demise. I knew he had depression and nerve issues but thought he was beating his demons.

The first celebrity death where I have ever fealt a modicum of mourning. Its quite unsettling. The death of people I have not met or known personally never normaly affects me. Maybe its the suicide element that makes it all the more tragic. His characters and acting ability are memorable and will live on. I cant help thinking of the numerous times I have seen him on talk shows where he just dominates, he was so funny quick witted and manic in his humor. Tragic that such a talented man and one so succesful at bringing joy to others should have so little himself that he chose this as a way out. My thoughts are with his family and close friends.
