Hi guys,

I've got a Roac (dual flush) cistern that is giving me a pain in the back side, basically once the toilet is flushed it, the water overflows in the cistren.

I dont think the flush valve ( I think thats the correct term used) seems to be the problem, as the water seems to be going above the float. I've got an brand new torbec float valve, would there be any problem if i remove the old float valve and replace it with the torbec float valve?

Will appreciate if someone can get back to me as its doing my backside with the cistern overflowing :\.

Thanks

I Iinstalled it, piece of cake, tested it, there seemed to be a small leak from the water supply leading into the floatvalce, then realised it was cross threaded for some strage reason, so going to take it back and get a new one.

Thanks

Most of the Fluidmaster valves have brass threads and are very reliable.

Pro Fluidmaster has Brass Thread inlet. When fitting a fluidmaster or torbeck inlet valve dont fully secure valve body to cistern. This will allow you a bit of free movement which will reduce the chance of cross threading. Once the inlet fitting has started secure the valve body to cistern and finally tighten inlet fitting

ii do that and i fit a half inch brass tap extender with a green fibre washers to every plastic ballvalve i fit now saves so much hassle of cross threading

Thank you very much for all your comments guys. Will keep this in mind since i'm a newbie plumber =].

Much appreciated.
