Hi all,
Got a possible boiler replacement coming up, i usually install baxi duotec, but this time the gas pipe is 15mm coming from below the floor, problem is customer doesn't want laminate floor up. The only thing i can do is find a good boiler that has 15mm gas connection, its either this or they dont want the work done until old boiler gives up. Any suggestions would be a great help.

i think i have come accross 2, ariston clas he and ideal excel he.
i will also be looking to use rf prog room stat for floor reason so would have to have this capability.

many thanks for replies

There are quite a few boilers with a 15mm gas connection but it doesn't mean that 15mm will supply enough gas. If you connect up to the existing and the boiler doesn't perform properly it's you the customer will be chasing.

Well first thing is to see what max working presure you can get at the existing boiler (with other appliances on)what type of boiler is fitted at present ?

But what Mike says above is correct and what happens if the boiler is faulty or develops a fault during cover period and manufactorers refuse to repair as gas pipework not to spec,or they put property on market and the undersized pipework is picked up on any inspections
All the above will come back to your shoulders

Thanks guys,
been thinking about it today, the only thing i could do is tell customer there will still be the possibility of renewing the gas pipe depending on how the boiler performs. atleast then they can't have any complaints then. I would certainly check the pressure across the pipework.
starting to think i might give this one a miss as it just seems like hassle. but as friends i told them i'd look into it

thanks for replies
