There's a load of houses done like this in town. Basically it saved on building materials and time - the entire front section of the houses are timber framed with the tiles hung over the top between the upstairs and downstairs windows. Between the tiles and the plasterboard of the rooms inside there is a sheet of visqueen and about 2 inches of glass fibre which in many of the houses has slumped, resulting in freezing cold rooms in winter. A lot of people have had the entire fronts rebuild in standard building materials or at least refurbished.

I remember these sort of houses from years ago.

One I saw had lost its whole front.

Basically they built two gables or party walls and just fixed the wooden frame in between.

Err! Somebody forgot to fix it to the walls. Wind blew and hey!! It fell out.

It's still a little inconspicuous to my way of thinking...... now streamers that fly out when the boiler's running...... that'd be the ticket!

And one of them noisy things boy racers stick in their car exhausts! Class!
