Hi all,

Im new here...and due to some issues with Scottish power Homecomfort i was wondering if their is list of suppliers (for parts)for them?

They are messing me around saying their supplier doesnt stock a part....whereas a quick google search bought it up in the first two results.

Hope someone can help. 🙂

Common problem with big companies, think it translates to Not economically viable to hold in stock anymore, find yourself a local independent guy with the correct qualifications to do the work.

True, it probably isn't " readily" available.. But then why insure?
My complaint with them is exactly this.
A local independent has said that he has customers before in the same situation. SP have asked him to do the work when they can't find a part and he emails the invoice to them..so there is a precedent.

I take you have a service contract with them?

Explain to them that the parts are available and if they are unable to obtain them, you will employ a company to carry out the necessary work required and be looking to them to reimburse the costs.

Also inform them you will contact trading standards.

I have the cheapest contract they offer £11. They will replace parts upto value of £500. Their is no annual service though.

Ill be telling exactly what you have just suggested..

update: So scottish power called me last friday telling me that they could not find the parts from the manufacturer/supplier and the most they could do was refund me any monies from the date from my last renewal.
I have since contacted the manufacturer (Halstead bought by Glen Dimplex) that, at the time of the call they had 35 in stock!!
I am at the moment waiting for a letter from SP telling me the above..
Will keep you all updated!
