Does anyone know anywhere near Sutton/Croydon/Wimbledon that sort of area that I can take my scrap copper and get a bit of cash for it? Any ideas on what I should expect in terms of payment would be appreciated (no idea how much I have as not weighed it) Cheers all and enjoy the snow!

problem is you need a waste license just to take it there apparently?.

i know some people who take copper scrap to the scrap yard without a license

Look in the Yellow Pages and ask who gives the best rates.

I seem to remember some time ago being told that scrap copper is classed as raw materials rather than waste so doesn't need a license to take it to a scrap merchant. I've never heard of a plumber having a waste license for scrap copper.

I got £2.50 per kg brazed copper, £2 per kg brass (mainly taps, sink wastes and float valves etc) and 90p per kg for lead flashing
