we all get "can you service my boiler, it isnt working" i usually smile and think at least they told me but does anyone have a good funny reply to that

I always ask any problems before I arrive and when I arrive also I ask,for the heating to be on when I arrive and I run the hot tap before I touch the boiler

Why ask for the heating to be on? You will just end up burning yourself when you strip it all down then, either that or sit around waiting for half an hour for it to cool down. I test heating and hot water very briefly before starting a service and even then things get too hot to touch.

I just like to make sure that it all works before I touch it there are so many ppl who try it on after you have touched it

I can understand that, but it must be impossible to work on without heat proof gloves for quite a while after you arrive.

Take a deep breath, and then explain servicing is routine maintenance. Would she expect a garage to replace a gearbox in a routine service.
