I know its usually down to ground workers to do the sewer drainage but thought I would try here see if anyone can help. I have shared drainage as part of a semi next door goes into mine via the back garden then it travels down the side of my house where 1 bungalow nextdoor joins it in a manhole in my drive before it joins the main sewer. I noticed a while back that the u-bend before the main sewer is damaged its clay and I believe its broken. I removed the clay stopper from the rodding eye above it so if it ever blocked again it would just flow over.

1 Who is responsible for repair would it be Thames water or us.

2 can it be patched or cemented in anyway.

3 can it be lined or is that just for straight pipes.

Cheers for any advice.

hi,
i believe.

its your drain, not the niebours, and the water board will charge you around $450
cement will settle and crack,
it may be possible to relign.

If you can get at it, dig it out and replace it. Otherwise get a groundworks guy to fix it (not the water authority or it will be very expensive).
