Shower gose hot to cold

In my shower it gose from boiling hot to frezzing cold with the smallest of touches
Is this a small job I can do my self or a pro

what make of shower is it,is it a mixer shower in the wall,bath/shower mixer/thermostatic,did it use to work ok ?

we really need more details on what sort of shower you have as puddle says also do you have a combi boiler or a normal one with a hot cylinder
