Shower problem.

It's got Bristan written on it but no other writing. Run off a combi. Water keeps dripping out of shower head in a constant dribble. Same whether turned to hot or cold. Shower works fine when being used. Operation feels normal.

Any idea what should be invesitgated / attemped / done?

Needs a new cartridge by the sounds of it
Take a picture in to your local plumbing supliers they should be able to sort one out for you then get a local plumber to fit it
If you put location on here there might be someone who can do it for you

Thanks Gray...And yeah I am a plumber. But a very new one. Not changed a shower cartridge before. Is it definetly going to be that from the symptoms? And is it an easy job?

not familiar with bristan showers but i went to a aqualisa shower today with same symptoms. removed cartridge and at back is an oring which needed changing and greasing. worth checking

Had exactly the same problem, same mixer. Had to change the valve - about 70 quid. Took me some time to get it out of the body – got well stuck inside.
You will need some small allen keys.

It looks a bit like a prism
email the photo to bristan & ask for the seals kit.
that should sort it.

Ah, ok. When you say valve .. is that distinct from cartridge? Don't know jack about shower innards.

You don't mean valve as in the whole actual shower valve do you? Do you mean the cartridge? In which case I'll go with that as two people have suggested it.

Looked up how to do it - looks straightforward.

The only thing now is to work out actual Bristan shower it is. Hopefully taking a photo into merchant will work otherwise I'll try the emailing Bristan pictures idea.

A lot of Bristan cartridges actually cost about the same as the whole new valve.Which is stupid.

If it's the cart 5 cartridge (06732) I'd bet £20 that new seals will sort the dripping shower out - save yourself £90 !
You normally only need to replace this one when the thermostatic control fails.
