Hello my name is glenn I'm an industrial plumber from Northern Ireland!

I mostly work on large building sites however I recently visited a friends house he is having problems with hot water pressure at his shower. It is just a basic thermostatic mixing shower I suggested either fitting a shower pump at the hot water cylinder or simply changing to an electric/power shower! I'm looking to find out which is the better option.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks, Glenn

You will get better flow from a pump but you need to check the CWSC is big enough (min 50 gallon for 1.5bar) also fit a Surrey flange or similar and run a dedicated cold supply from the CWSC for the pump.

A mains electric shower will be a lot less flow but infinite running time, you will need to run a cold main to it and run a suitably sized cable and separate RCD.

There is also limited space in the airing cupboard so might be difficult fitting a pump! I think il change to an electric shower! thanks for the help!
