customer wants a flush level shower but the joists run the wrong way to route the waste. Any other ideas other than building a plinth that she is not keen on. She is saying just notch the joists errrrr NO

Can you not run the waist any other way might be a longer run but you can size up to 2" or up to 4" once outside?

Or straight down through the ceiling assuming the bathrooms not on the ground floor and then out and box it in or lower the downstairs ceiling

even in a 250mm joist you can not notch for a 11/4 pipe without a fall.

you can get a waste in the drill zone of a joist if its deep enough. 0.25 x depth

lifting the floor or waste underneath is other options unless you want to try and fit a pump somewhere but they are normally a pain.
