Hello, I hope this does not contravene any rules, but I am after some advice with regards Banging Pipes in the attic.
I have a Worcester Greenstar Jr 28i Boiler, it works fine, hot water everywhere in the house and all Rads working. However, each morning for the last week or so, there is an audibile banging/clunking noise from the attic directly above the shower unit, (Shower works well and produces good water flow and hot water) but the banging only starts one hour or so after the boiler comes on (comes on at 6.15am, banign starts around 7ish), ususally lasts 5-10 mins or so, then me or my wife are up and running Shower/Wash Basin/flushing toilet etc then it stops (not sure if this is related, or whether it is co-incidence).
Now I am an Accountant, and not an expert on these things, so please excuse the terminology, There sounds to me as though there is a `pumping sound' before the banging starts. (the feed for the shower comes from Boiler situated in bathroom, up through attic and down, shower is about 10 feet from Boiler)
Boiler is only 6 months old, so is under warranty etc, but as everywhere else works and has no issues, I really don't think it's the boiler?
I went to the attic investigate, and secured the pipes (they were sitting loose on Joists), and insulated them incase it was hot water hitting cold pipes being an issue, but the banging still commenced this morning
Any advice anyone? it's driving me mental!
