Chrome towel rad, one of the valves looks historically like its leaked but currently dry.
There is a sticky blue sap on the tile where the chrome feed appears out of the tile below. No blue sap on pipes or rad, just dry weep marks. reappears daily.
Has no odour and no i havnt tasted it😛

What could it be? I will replace the valves but want to know what it is.. Aliens?

The sticky is probably from inhibitor in the system and the blue is from the copper. It probably still is weeping but you don't notice when the heating is on as it evaporates before it drips, and when the heating goes off it will run down to the tiles.

blame the home owners baby - and class it as baby stuff.

or if you a good chemist you could quote the formula cu something or other.
the water leak has probably cause some reaction with copper and some other material - or if new pipework done recently maybe a blob of flux

Thanks. I have done work there recently and inhib was added so makes sense that its evaporated and left it behind.

I will fix the leak but will impress her first with some flashy chemical equations.🙂

Shes a bit past babies😉 sadly
