i have changed my old gravity fed system witha combi - boiler heating and hot water. there are too much pressure and noise on all taps. shower pressure is good no problem. when I restirct flow through existing ball valves below sinks, they creates noise. there are a few flow restrictors in markets. PRV would reduce the pressure for taps, not favoured. can someone please advise me? the one that is not making noise and restrict a low flow rate, say 4-6 litre/min.

The ball valves could be the problem. Open them to full and restict the flow by turning you stopcock/tap down

If your plumber was worth his salt, he would have advised you to get new taps which would have coped with the higher pressures resulting from a combi delivery. New taps for suitable for higher pressures would be best option, better than foobling around fitting restrictors....

turning the incoming stopcock would also reduce flow through shower specialy when both a shower and another tap are in use.

most combis aren't designed to operate above 3 bar and a prv is recommended as part of installation procedure, however few people bother, a prv on the incoming main is only a good thing, pressure to taps is little affected and you'll save water in the long term. also your taps may start to operate properly again.

Go to www.bes.co.uk and search for item number 17527. This along with the appropriate flow restrictor cartridge will do what you want. They are also available in push fit.
