Hi guys

I replaced a tap washer today and after changing it the tap seem to spin around more before coming on , what have I done wrong.

Thanks rob

So could it be faulty head gear that need changing or is the head gear a serviceable item ive never had this problem when changing washers before , it seems a lot looser when turn it and you have to turn it a lot more for it to come on.

Sounds like you have put a soft washer on it and, as above ^^^, it squashes down & needs tap head turned more to release it.
Or it it is a modern tap works which has 3 parts to it - the outer shell, then the working bits - a hexagon part which the tap washer is linked to and then the spindle part that has a threaded end for into hexagon part.
The hexagon part usually has O rings which wear & cause water to get past & into the thread above it. Silicone grease or Vaseline the works & put together again or replace works or tap if O rings or brass is worn badly.
