I have a problem with my valliant boiler. I have a thermostatic shower and when turned on i get no hot water from it. The only way to get it hot is by turning the hot taps on fully to start the burner up on the boiler then turn the shower on and the taps off. The problem is then that the water gets so hot you have to turn the shower down and then you lose the hot water again and have to repeat the process again. Can anyone enlighten me to what the problem would be? 2 plumbing friends have been round and just opted for the get a new boiler but if its a fairly simple fix i'll do that until i've got some spare cash for a new boiler. Thanks

Well I can't see it being a boiler problem if the water gets hot at the taps. I would be inclined to make sure the thermostat in the shower is actually working correctly. Sounds to me like it may just need a new cartridge in the shower as the stat has failed.

Hi stuart there could be a number of reasons that your shower is playing up the fact that the boiler is supplying hot water to other taps makes me think your problem lies with your shower and not your boiler If this has only just started to happen I would say most likely cause is thermostatic cartridge has packed up could also be poor flow rate i.e blocked spray head or may need larger bore shower hose easy to check the latter take off spray and try good luck🙂regards turnpin
