Thermostatic shower advice

Hi All,

Your advice or opinions would be very welcome.

I'm having a new shower installed in my new bathroom. System is off a combi. Am currently using an Aqualisa Midas 100. It seems ok. Measured flow and getting approx 9 litres per min through shower head. Checked hot tap flow in kitchen and it's about the same. Was previously using Aqualisa Aquarian and to be honest it seemed a little more powerful although that may just have been because it had a different head. So my question is, can a 'better' shower provide a better shower performance? For example, the Midas 300 with a 'pancake' style shower head? Maybe I should go back to the Aquarian? Or a Mira? I saw a couple of nice German models...... showers not girls!..... Grohe and Hansgrohe and their technical blurb said something like flow rate of 26 litres per min at 3bar pressure which is the pressure showing on the pressure limiting thingy I've had fitted on my mains. Or is it all down to the combi boiler?!

Not interested in all singing all dancing digital stuff just a normal thermostatic shower. Will prob spend up to £300 but only if the performance improves.

Look at the shower heads as these can make a huge difference. The better ones are more economical and use less water but still give a good shower.

Your combi will play a big part in it but you should be able to add a few more litres. It depends also on what the midas says it can deliver. You can put a larger head on but if you don't have the flow rate then it may feel like you have lost pressure with larger head.
