Hi,

We have a problem with our toilet flush and it has already been looked at by two plumbers without being resolved, so I'm hoping someone can advise what to try next.

When the toilet is flushed, the water often remains slightly 'yellow' afterwards - it seems that some of the contents of the flush is returned to the toilet bowl. Sometimes very small broken pieces of paper are returned, but there is otherwise no problem with solids flushing. The external pipe has been checked for blockages and is clear. Annoyingly, the problem does not always occur every time it's flushed, so it's difficult to demonstrate to a plumber.

The toilet was installed almost a year ago and the problem did not occur with the previous toilet.

Since two plumbers have looked at it and found no problems, I'm not sure what to try next, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Has the complete WC & cistern been replaced , or just the cistern ? Have they adjusted the water level in the cistern ?

Thanks for your reply, the WC and cistern were both replaced at the same time. I'm unsure about the level in the cistern, is this something I can check?

Thanks... what level should it be though? Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure that the recent plumber checked this anyway.

Often there is a 2" line and 6L cast in to the back face of the cistern.

You don`t say if the cistern has flush handle or push buttons, if it has buttons they try pushing and holding the large flush button down for a few seconds rather than jab it and walking away.
