Armitage shanks ball valve, same one as I replaced in my old toilet, any guesses what with ???

Neither fit, I have tried nearly every bottom entry there to tall the lid of the cistern is lipped and it don't fit on right.

Get in e bay and type in armitage shanks bottom entry quiet fill valve, I'm pretty sure that will fit the bill.

If you cant find the exact ball valve, measure the height of the stem and try Lunns 01252 548711. They seem to have everything there, and if they dont, they can usually get it. Beware though, use this as a last resort as its quite expensive.

Agree with Plum Bob though, the Armitage quiet fill is (I think) an updated version of your ball valve, also think you can get them from Screwfix if your stuck.
