Hi there, I hope someone can help.
The ball valve in my toilet wasn't working, so I tightened the nut to try and lower the ball. However it snapped so the water started spewing out. I held the little valve manually and it stopped, so that part works. I've currently got a clamp holding the valve in place. The problem is...the toilet is mains filled and the internal stopcock doesn't work. I looked at the outside stopcock (in the boundary box?) and there is what looks like a plastic handle. This won't turn so I can't even turn the water off there.
How can I fit a new ballcock and arm thing if I cannot turn the water off? I can only flush the toilet by releasing the clamp to refill the cistern and reclamping before it overflows.
Hope this is clear.
Thanks

Ask your water company to come out to check your external stopcock. Are you trying to turn it off like a traditional stopcock. its prob only a quarter turn so try turning it the other way
