I own a guest house and one of our constant maintenance issues is loo seats that need adjusting. It's a complete pain esp with bottoms getting bigger.

So any suggestions please for a better quality fitting than the plastic rubbish that comes with the seats?

Imo they are all pretty much rubbish! There will always be some maintenance required.
My advice would be to replace them with seats that have a very basic fixing kit. That way the maintenance required can be done in seconds

You do get some that are better than others.
buy one and try it, if its ok then note the brand for future purchases

carrara and matta do seats with good and very basic fixings. simple top down bolt with rounded nut underneath. good fixing and reall easy and quick to secure
