Hello people I've had a situation where the inlet pressure at a fluess gas gas fire was 22.5mb and should be 20 + - 1 the installation pipe work is 15mm and the supply to this fire is 8mm what can be done to reduce the pressure as the customer doesn't want to pay for re piping..the fire has been capped off until the pipe work is sorted any advise would be appreciated to tackle this..

I wouldn't worry about it. As long as the working pressure of the appliance is correct. No spillage. Genral checks

Whats the working at the meter?

working at the meter could be to high, check and if it is kick it in to the utilities,if that does not resolve it fit a restrictor elbow, then carry out a fga

Is it the inlet working pressure or is it the actual burner pressure? If its inlet pressure then there is no problem..If its the burner pressure then it is a problem (ID)

used to fit loads of flueless burly and the other one(cant remember the make, the b+q,next one flavel?) its essential you fga and gas rate it and follow mi,s to a t,out of 10 fits 9 come overrated and the fatality was in merthyr ,a overset from new appliance that had not been gas rated

And that's why I think they should be banned!

so do i ,anyway why would someone want flueless in their home ? they have to have a 100cm2 vent that chills the place,a rad as well? and a fire that has no power? go electric is my advise if you have no conventional flue or cant have a BF fire

It's 22.5 mb at the burner..24mb standing Pressure at the meter fga ok but following mis to a t as gas man stated it needs 20mb +- 1..still 22.5 with all other appliances on..did the 100cm2 vent etc but the excessive pressure rang alarm bells..

Thanx all left with the customer who thinks they can get someone to sort it without changing pipe work etc..I've left it capped and won't put my name to it..Anyway Thanx for the kwik advice all ov you..good night god bless

22.5 at the burner equals ID. No question
