Towel rail brands

Hi,

I'm replacing the famly bathroom and want to fit a heated towel rail in place of the rad, along with electric underfloor heating. The towel rail needs to be a fairly big rail (four women in the house :smilewinkgrin🙂 and I'm looking at 1600/500, but the range of brands and prices is large, and I'm trying to find a balance between quality and price. Can anyone recommend a brand or advise brands to avoid. I like the look of the Sussex brand but they come up a bit pricey. I'd like to avoid Kudox as i've heard so less than glowing recommendations. Anyone fitted a Reina rad? Is it worth going with a white rad rather than chrome to increase heat output or is the difference too small to notice?

Eastbrook is a good balance between quality and price. Wander into your local plumbers merchant and ask for an Eastbrook catalogue.

In terms of heat output, remember that the output quoted by the manufacturer is for the rail without towels on it. Once you cover it in towels, you are reducing the output very sharply.

White is much less popular than it used to be.

Stay with a radiator. You'll be switching off the underfloor after the first electric bill and the towel rail wont cope.

Unfortunately the missus has set her sights on warm tiles underfoot. Would a wet underfloor heating system (on an over-boarded timber suspended floor) be a better choice?
