Hi All,

First of all i would like to wish you all a Happy New Year, here's to a great 2011.

I work at Construction Skills College and we provide training courses in Stoke-on-Trent and Willenhall, Nr Wolverhamton.

For 2011 we have have reviewed, amended and improved the courses that we offer. We have reviewed customer feedback prior to reviewing the course content with local plumbers and heating engineers to ensure that the courses we offer meet what attendees want.

We have changed the notes that we use and improved the training facilities and lesson plans. We have also added a new course which includes training within a domestic property. This element of the course will include, as a group, quoting for and completing an installation of a heating system within a property in Staffordshire. This extra element to the training gives the attendee more confidence in what they have learned and hopefully will help them after this first rung on the ladder.

We currently offer the following courses:

5 day domestic plumbing and bathroom fitting course
10 day plumbing, bathroom fitting and heating systems course including Level 2 unit accreditation from CIty & Guilds
15 day plumbing, bathroom fitting and heating systems course + Level 2 unit accreditation from CIty & Guilds and also including training in a domestic property
BPEC Water Regulations

All courses are taught by City & Guilds approved tutors and full support is available after you have completed the course.

Full details of our courses can be found at www.tradeteacher.co.uk but if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Many Thanks,
Dave

The courses that we offer are aimed at people who want an intensive introduction to the trade. The courses are designed to give attendee as much practical experience and supporting job knowledge within the time they are at the centre so as to enable them to complete a small number of plumbing jobs such as bathroom installations, extensions of heating systems, basic maintenance etc. The courses are run by highly experienced, qualified and currently gas safe registered plumbing and heating engineers who pride themselves on the skills and knowledge that they pass onto the learners.

The unit accreditation is not from the 6219 qualification but instead it is taken from the 6218 qualification which is an introduction into construction skills. We do not run courses promising to turn someone into a plumber and due to the time constraints of the short courses it is difficult to incorporate a number of available qualifications. Even though the unit accreditation is basic the content of the course is not.
