Hi all, back again! ok, im just about to fit a pumped electric shower and with it own 25 gallon tank, im wanting the tank to fill as quick as poss and have been trying to find out the best way of doing it, today i went to plumbshop and the guy there told me that the best way is to fit two ball cocks in the tank and this would help it fill quicker as there would be two inlets into the tank,

My question is, do i have to bear anything in mind when doing this and would anyone else recomend doing it this way or are there any better ways to do it, my mains presure is about 1bar but at times it can be less, and at night it can be as much as 2.5 bar

any advice i would be very greatfull for

Cheers

i wouldn't have thought that having two ball float valves would make any difference as they will be fed by the one mains feed. think kitchen tap is on then someone flushes the loo (if mains fed of course) the tap then drops flow because the mains is feeding two outlets sort of thing.

You could just buy a 3/4" float valve or 1".

My best bet would be to say to increase the pipe size or have it be the largest possible.

I have done the 2 float valves trick before and it does work but only in certain circumstances. Wouldn't it be better to have a much larger tank?

Good point, im just trying to get the tank to fill as fast as poss, so was looking for some way of when the water level drops in the tank for the ball valve to open full if you get my drift, as all the ball valves i have seen only have a little hole/bore where the water comes in, do you have any better suggestions ?

Cheers! simonjohns, y didnt i think of that!!! ooh i no cos im not a plumber lol 3/4" float valve or 1" will give the bigger opening im after and should fill quicker, Cheers for that

Agree with above. Fit a bigger float valve, and either another tank (bridged) or a bigger one.

Cheers dannypipe, yer i will get a bigger float valve cant belive that i didnt think of doing that! and yer will u size tank, appreciated info, thanks
