So my assessments are just out of date. I more than likely will get reassessed this time round.

But i have just recieved a letter from that glorious establishment to say that my technician registration lapses on April 16th. Something i thought happened once your assessments passed the 5 year mark. Obviously not.

Also if i pay the princely sum of 240 before the 16th then my registration will not expire and my only downside is that i will be unable to self certify.

So to summarise, pay the cash, stay oftec registered even without 'valid' assessments.

What a load of bull. Looks like 240 is more important than an upto date assessment!

And yes i realise that at 5 years and 1 day im not an incompetent fool as my mind has not been suddenly wiped. But i d9 find it a bit money grabbing on oftecs part.

Rant over.

They class you as non operative right?

Just had to pay my initial registration.

after almost 3 weeks of them fannying about. Paid a 40 quid fast track and had it done in two hours......

Its not as straight forward as that because of my unvented. Just had my cards out. Another 18 months on that to run. So wondering if that has something to do with it.

The best part of the letter though 'dont miss out on all the benefits registration gives you'. Aye righty o.

I tried paying online, seems they are not that advanced yet so had to use their 0845 number!!
