i have a custard.

custard has ariston contract 150sti u/v cylinder with a standard 3kw immersion element. he also has solar panels feeding the hw.

he has asked, and i cant quite fathom why from his verbal ramblings but.....

his solar regularly produces around 3kw of input but it flickers between 3 and 2.9, 2.8 etc so both his immersion and his solar are constantly flicking on and off which for some reason he thinks is an undesirable situation.

he wants a 2kw element which should resolve this. ariston dont do 2kw elements but it is a standard immersion boss.
does anyone know if a 2kw element with a standard boss and suitable for u/v (wired emergency cut out to motorised valve) is available anywhere???

my own searches thus far have proved fruitless.

thanks as always gents.

Not good! Can only use OEM immersion! Immersun controller?

If the solar only produces 2.8kw the immersion will just chugg at that. It's like a 40kw on a 15mm supply boiler just works at low output.

As above, I don't think trying to cram 3kw into a 2kw immersion would be desirable?
