Unvented question

Can I repair a leak on the cold feed pipe before the pressure reducing valve without my unvented ticket. It's a love job for my cousin, asked me to look at a leak popped round before and its on the feed to his unvented, I'm right in thinking I can as its only on a cold water pipe and before any safety devices. If I turn the water off cut out the weeping 22mm coupler repair then switch the water back on them I'm all good.
