Does anyone know who is higher than gas safe as I am working on a job where a builder has done a runner but the gas
fitter had fitted a baxi solo in a garage with a 9m vertical flu witch is not permitted the owner has managed to get him back
today to move the boiler into the loft. After seeing his work today I am not happy as he siliconed all the condensate joints

left fuse spur in the garage 2 floors down and hasn't fitted a gas valve under boiler.
i have done a check on his card number and it has come back not known.

Does anyone know who I would be able to get down to the job tomorrow to check all the work and him

Can anyone help

fused spur should be within meter of boiler
who says you cant have 9 meters on the flue, and are there any bends
when you check a gas safe engineer there should be 2 numbers, the company number and his number within the company

gonna have to say where you are if you want another engineer to visit

Sounds a really good lad to me. Probably call gas safe, but they won't be that bothered or interested if not registered. Could call building control but inspector may be too busy. Other one is the HSE ? U could call police , they may not be able to do anything other than record the blokes real name and address and that he was working on gas appliance and this could be forwarded to gas safe..... But I wouldn't hold my breath.

Baxi have confirmed that the flu should not exceed 4m no exceptions as the air flow was not enough and there was no bends it wasn't even fixed with brackets or the self tappin screws put in joints.and it was singed off when in compleat He has moved it now so only a 1.5m flu now

he is back tomorrow as boiler would not run properly it kept coming on for 5 seconds then going off and repeating until lock out

i done a check online and gas safe said number unknown

Yea it came back unknown engineer and same for company
im thinking he is not who he says as could not wait to come back when the owner threatened with court action

As you are not the owner, not the builder and not the gas engineer can I ask what your role in the works is?

I have taken on the unfinished bathroom as the orig builder took job on then declared bankrupt leaving owner with no kitchen bathroom no running water ect

Is the gas iso valve not built into this boiler? Not many boiler have iso below them do they?

It is The HSE who prosecute so contact them if you think this person is illegal - ie doing gas work with out being on Gas safe Register.
Try to get accurate contact details - name and address of the man.

Here is the link on GS for reporting illegal workers: Report an illegal gas worker

Contact GAS SAFE REGISTER as Tara has pointed out. It is part of GSR remit to investigate into illegal gas work.

Hi all thanks for helping in this matter the owner is taking him to court and informing HSE.

the gas fitter came back but still did not compleat all to standard

Eg. Condensate line no fall siliconed joints together, fuse spur 6m from boiler in garage, issued gas cert befor completing all previous works, would not move time clock from garage through wall into hallway

cant do vertical flu on pitched roofs. Excuse that's a roofers job.

I know this and so does every one else

i must admit he wasn't all the ticket and came from Wales no offence the the welsh
dont think he enjoys his job had no care for what he was doing
