Hi all I have a problem with rads all getting hot upstairs. Used to get hot in bathrooms only so took that as the way it used to be piped to allow towels to dry. Recently had a radiator removed downstairs and all rads upstairs now get hot. System has a bypass pipe between pump and diverter valve as its a Potterton suprima any help appreciated.

Diverter valve also springs to mind? Some crud has got in it maybe? Unless its developed a reverse circulation fault somehow?

potterton suprima' that means its an s plan/y pan and not a combi

can someone have piped flow pipe to rads before zone valves, that way heating will come on when ever the boilers on

or could be wired up funky, (carefull honeywell have terrible tech helpline) or programmer is bust

when you say diverter valve do you mean zone valve and if so are we talking 2 or 3 port

Y plan ambrosia. Many thanks for the feedback guys don't delve much into the pipe work in domestic usually just the boilers and controls. A lot of my work is commercial mainly and this job is for 1 of the wife's mates. Originally was required to remove a radiator but have opened a can of worms!

if youve moved rad it maybe reverse circulation or as i said connected to wrong side of actuator

if its reverse circluation you could put a non return valve on the rad to sort it out, but dont let some of the better engineers on here catch you doing it

Mate it looks like a bodged job. Extension put on house then problems started. Microbore too so non return no go unless I fit non bidirectional trvs which Ive heard can cause flow noise

bypass could be piped in wrong place on return creating even more flow to rads
