I'm booked on the Vaillant eco tec course, anyone else been on it?

Any good? It's free but i'm missing a days work for it.

I went on the one for the previous model. It's ok, some good tips on commissioning and breakdowns. But mainly a sales pitch.

Any free boiler courses you can get on are always of some benefit, you learn something each time, done loads of freebees in the past , Last one was for Baxi. Helps keep you up to date with what is going on in the industry

Where You going ash?The courses are worth it to allow you to offer extended Vaillant warranties as a Vaillant Advance member. I went to Maidstone for a couple Stef there really knows his stuff and doesn't push the product hard but I mean ultimately you'll be staring in a Vaillant all day so it's not like there're alternatives.

It's the maidstone one i'm going to also. I'm just trying to get as much knowledge of breakdowns as I can, I'm not too fussed on commissioning because it's usually straight forward in the manuals. I don't get much time doing breakdowns so most stuff i learn gets pushed out of my brain after a while! if I learn one useful thing that sticks, the day was worth it.

Looking forward to it, don't get much for free in life so can't complain.

I'd imagine Stef will look after you there mate. Very knowledgable bloke just don't get him talking about cars ;-) you won't learn masses in terms of fault finding. But familiarising yourself with every little part of the unit helps massively and they'll get you to do a full live strip down of an Ecotec. The handouts they give are excellent telling you how to use the engineer level codes etc. all stuff that's useful in the field.

Where was the Baxi course Joe, anywhere near us ?

Done the Ecotec level one today. Stef was a good instructor, didn't get much hands on other than playing with the installer level menu on the boilers.

It was good though, only fitted one boiler before - the 937 and today showed how easy the controls can be with a bit of time to get to grips with it.

Got my name down for the level 2 but been told i'm probably going to be waiting until july/august unless there is a cancellation. Looking forward to that though as it will be hands on all day.

Impressed with Vaillant, the built in diagnostics is pretty good. Also the PCB seems easy enough to do a bit of fault finding.

Keep chasing Lorraine and she'll probably find you a gap sooner.

Have to say I've been on a few courses and really enjoy the Vaillant training style

More in depth on boiler functionality and testing. Fault finding, give you loads of handouts.

I know I sound a bit like a broken record but I think they're excellent. Not as good as the Baxi fault finding ️️course but defos gives you a really good insight to Vaillant products and the chance to play

The handouts you get on the Level 2 course are really useful. All the resistances, which test points on the PCB test which component, all sorts of detailed troubleshooting stuff.

Thinking about it, I might scan them and upload the file...

Do it, Do it, Do it! 🙂

Good thinking Mas. Found mine in the van the other day. I'm in the process of emptying one van and filling another. I need a library

Masood u should put it into the dropbox full of regs n fault findings. Pdf document in the arms I think it's called. Good if we keep adding to it.
