vaillant eco tec plus s.53 on hot water

Hello, Having trouble with the above status on hot water if the tap is open on full the water goes cold but perfectly fine half way open?

replaced the plate heat ex

also the customer said it had came up with an f23 fault in the book says pump or ntc even those the pump is working well on the radiators is there a chance it may not be for hot water just seems when the burner ramps up it brings out this status and the heat not circulating through the plate quick enough thanks

s.53 indicates water shortage as does f23.could be pump is blocked/defective or pump output is too low.HTH.

thanks may just go with the pump even those it does seem like its running ok

check water pressure sensor for blockage
second thoughts if its ok on heating,

Is there a water turbine on them? Is it modulating up for the high demand of hot water?

Take off the rubber hose from pump to main heat ex and rubber hose from heat ex to the flow manifold....and clean out...these always get stuffed full of magnatite and also remove low pressure sensor give it a clean....i had this fault not so long ago and i just removed all the pipework inside the boiler and cleaned it out and it was fine.

thanks good tip, it does it all the time when it modulates up on hot water but even on heating the return was a lot cooler but did not bring out the fault
