I have a vaillant ecotec plus boiler which fails to heat my radiators! The anti cycling symbol is constantly flashing. The only time my radiators have been hot was when I'd changed my machanical valve and had refilled and bled the system. any ideas?😡

why did you change the "mechanical" ( i assume you meen diverter ) valve, in the first place? what made you decide to change it.

advised to by a heating engineer. I don't think he'd had much experience with this type of boiler. He didn't look at the display and the symbols

its gonna be expensive for you to follow this course of action, why change a bit that youve been told to by somebody you dont trust?
you will be far better off financially calling in an engineer to fault find on site.
however,
if you changed the "mechanical valve" was that the brass body, or the valve head?
if it was just the head (and im assuming now. op is vague and cloudy !!) are you sure its connected correctly to body ?
no matter which part of the valve you have changed, if you remove the "actuator" the plastic bit, you will see a metal pin in a brass body, if you grab the pin with a pair of pliers and pull it out, or push it in gently ( move it to opposite position it is set at )
you may find a difference in the working of the boiler. try that see what happens, post result. good luck.

I too have a Vaillant EcoTEC plus and currently can only get the top floor radiators to come on fully. The downstairs radiators come on, but at a considerably reduced heat. They are literally lukewarm.

The only thing that I can offer in some way of what is going on is the radiator symbol flashing when I turn the CH on. The ignition symbol comes on for the hot water, but not for the CH.

After having browsed the manual and online for a solution, I am at a loss (I'm not a plumber at any stretch of the mark anyway).

Any solutions?
