Vaillant ecotek 837 - stat?

Hiya,

I've currently got 2 CH engineers & an electrician friend of theirs who are trying to work out how to add a thermostat into the wiring for a Vaillant ecotek 837 - they say there is no information in the installation manual. The boiler is working fine, HW & CH, we just want to add a room stat into the circuit so it's controllable from downstairs (the boiler is up in the attic).

Any help would be appreciated!

you connect the switch live into the RT connection to the left of the mains connections

Yeah the manual sucks on these. We struggled week before last. Something about not using the connector which you do use on other vaillants .......confused:banghead:

Thanks for the responses, I'll pass the info on and let you know how we get on with it.

You need to remove the 24v link aswell otherwise the heating will be on permantly

All sorted - as said above, remove link from 24v then take live feed from 230 down to stat and also connect neutral. I think you may have to be sure stat is not showing summer?
Vaillant are getting lots of calls on this so hopefully they'll be changing the manual to add in the missing detail.
