Valliant Ecotec plus 831 programmer choice

Hi, can anybody help with me choosing a programmer for the said boiler, I have read that Honeywell do a great user friendly programmer, yet other advice is that the Valliant programmers connect to the boiler and monitor the temperatures etc more efficiently. Does anyone know how good these Valliant programmers actually are, at a cost of user friendliness?

Personally, i fit Vaillant boilers but use a Honeywell CM927 Wireless programmable room stat. never had any problems with them yet.

My god, save yourself the hassle and follow the Honeywell CMT927 RF advice above... the Vaillant wireless controls are ridicoulosly complicated!!! Wayy too much going on there. Honeywell all the way

Honeywell definitely seems better (so much simpler to use), but can somebody confirm that the wired equivalent of the CMT927 is the CM907? This is all I need for my combi boiler, right? (I also have the Vaillant Ecotec Plus 831), right?

Yes, the cm907 is the wired version of the wireless cm927.

Sorry to ask a stupid question, but is this all I need for the 831?

Yes, it gets fixed to the wall where you would normally site the thermostat and wired back into the boiler.
