Vokera Linea 735 problems

View the thread, titled "Vokera Linea 735 problems" which is posted in UK Plumbers Forums on UK Plumbers Forums.

Hi Folks,
Thought i'd ask for advice before i tear in about this boiler lol (Vokera Linea 735). (had different lads tell me different causes).

Apparently it works totally perfect in HW mode. The client has turned the heating on in last few weeks and the boiler fires up, gets up to a certain temp then cuts off and the red light flashes. Now, all they do is reset and woohoo away it goes working perfect for the rest of the cycle. They have also said that 'sometimes it also goes off when the heating is on and they run hot water'. Again a quick turn of the dial to off then CH/HW and away it goes again.

The system is part new (10mm to new rads a about 10yrs ago) and part old (old old rads and 8mm). Im intending giving it a flush thru as the expansion vessel hose has been choked twice in the last 5yrs with gunge.

What do we think folks.

Martin

I would rip out boiler and fit new one. Along with a magnetic filter as System sounds rather sludged up and a few bottles of x 800 but, you do need to be GSR to do boiler change .I assume you are because your tinkering with the boiler? If your not qualified you should leave well alone?

Don't you like the boiler. Attended vokera fault finding course today. Pretty basic to be fair but for me that's perfect. Can't see the other ppl attending taking much away from it.

Vokera have never been a boiler of choice. It's the Lexmark of boiler world. U know its there, it does a job , low capital cost but makes up for it in running and repair costs. Vokera repair course.... Time well spent! Lots to repair even more to rip out.
